Rooftops in Marrakech

Marrakech is best discovered from above. As soon as the sun begins to set over the Medina, the city's rooftop terraces come alive: steaming teapots, cocktails, tables set facing the minarets with the snow-capped Atlas on the horizon. This selection brings together 14 rooftops, mostly clustered around the Medina, with a few spots on the Kasbah and Guéliz side. The historic heart holds most of them. The MK Rooftop, tucked away in the Souk Laksour district, is among the favourites with a solid Google rating, as is the Rooftop El Kennaria, one of the best-rated in the city for its panorama. For refined cuisine and a convivial atmosphere, Maison Reine and Coco Rooftop deliver on their promise, while Al Khayma remains a safe bet for large groups and family dinners. On the Kasbah side, El Fenn offers a rooftop bar renowned for its view and atmosphere, with a terrace, Wi-Fi and cocktails. What to expect? Menus blending Moroccan specialities with international fare, lunch deals as well as dinners, and often cocktails or mint tea to stretch the evening out. Several terraces, such as Kabana or Mabrouka Rooftop & Sky Bar, have racked up thousands of reviews: crowds build quickly at sunset. A few practical tips: book ahead for evening slots, especially in spring and summer, and aim for the 6 pm - 8 pm window to enjoy the golden light over the rooftops. Bring a light jacket: evenings cool down fast up high. On each listing, you'll find the address, neighbourhood, rating and, when available, direct online booking.
