7 Italian spots in Tangier, from the neighbourhood pizzeria to a table for a dinner for two. We checked everything before recommending them.
Italian food in Tangier isn't a passing trend. San Remo, on rue Ahmed Chawki, shows «since 1975» on its Google profile. Anna e Paolo, family-run, welcomes guests behind the Hotel Chellah. And the city centre still has most of the good spots. Around rue Lafayette, a family trattoria and a Neapolitan pizzeria almost face each other. On rue de Grenade, near place de France, Parmigiano occupies a large dining room.
In the past few years, things have been moving. Brands born elsewhere in Morocco have opened in Tangier: Little Mamma, Cappero, Napolitano. And there are good restaurants outside the centre too, from Branes to the area around Mohammed VI hospital. Here are seven verified places. Wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta, an elegant table for a dinner for two, and a few bargains at under 60 MAD a pizza.
Updated September 2026.
How we chose these places
We started from the Italian restaurants and pizzerias listed on SAM.ma in Tangier. We read customer reviews, went through menus, websites and Instagram accounts, and kept only one location per brand. This isn't a ranking: we wanted a mix of styles and budgets.
Nothing is made up. If we couldn't verify a price or opening hours, we left it out. Google ratings date from September 2026 and the photos come from SAM.ma listings.
