Things to do in Marrakech: 9 activities to try in 2026

Quad biking in Agafay, hot-air balloons, gardens, cooking classes… 9 activities in Marrakech, checked one by one.

Marrakech isn't just about wandering the souks on foot. In a single day, you can go from a hidden garden in the medina to a quad track in the Agafay desert, then end up by a pool on the road to the Ourika. You just need to know where to go, and on what budget.

We've gathered ten activities from the SAM.ma selection, all checked on their official websites in October 2026. For thrills: quad biking, buggies, karting on water, a hot-air balloon at sunrise. For families: an educational farm and a park with trampolines and a surf wave. For culture, a 1910 palace and a restored garden. And for those who want to learn something, a cooking class and a golf driving range. Prices range from a 60-dirham museum ticket to a 2,200-dirham balloon flight. The Google ratings quoted were noted in September 2026.

Updated October 2026.

How we chose these places

We started from the activities and leisure spots listed on SAM.ma in Marrakech. We read customer reviews, went through menus, websites and Instagram accounts, and kept only one address per brand. This isn't a ranking: we wanted a mix of styles and budgets.

Nothing is made up. If we couldn't check a price or opening hours, we left it out. Google ratings date from October 2026 and the photos come from the SAM.ma listings.

A very early start, but it's worth it. Maroc Montgolfière takes off at sunrise and flies over the Marrakech region: palm groves, villages, desert, with the Atlas as a backdrop. Transfer from your hotel or riad is included, as is tea or coffee while the balloon is inflated.

The classic flight costs 2,200 dirhams per person (200 euros). The basket is divided into compartments. On landing, a flight certificate and breakfast in a Berber tent. Prefer to be alone on board, for a proposal for example? There's a private option, on quotation, and another for groups of six or more.

The pilot, Michel Ries, claims more than 33 years in the job. The company says it is approved by the DGAC (civil aviation authority) for public passenger transport. On Google, 5/5 from 460 reviews noted in September 2026.

English landscape designer Tom Stuart-Smith designed the two gardens: a highly geometric Islamic garden and an exotic garden.
