19 DH. That's the starting price of a pizza at Pizza di Papi. Yes, in 2026. The concept was born in Casablanca, in Maârif. It's now opening in Mohammedia, in the Quartier du Parc, on rue Ibn Tachfine.
We went to see what this pizzeria with a difference has to offer.
A rectangular, individual pizza
The first thing you notice: the shape. Here, pizzas aren't round. They're rectangular, individual, and about 25 cm long. The house says it itself on social media: «Not round. Not classic.»
The idea is simple. Everyone picks their own pizza, to their taste. No need for four people to agree on one big pizza to share. Handy with family or friends, when nobody likes the same thing.
What's on the menu
Pizza di Papi's SAM.ma menu is split in two. First, the classics:
- Margherita at 19 DH, the cheapest.
- Veggie at 22 DH.
- Pepperoni at 26 DH, Beef at 27 DH.
- Tonno and BBQ chicken at 28 DH.
- 4 Formaggi and Prawn at 29 DH.
Then the specials, a bit more loaded: Chicken mushroom or Duo jambon at 34 DH, Beef supreme or Hot dog at 29 DH, and the Pepperoni deluxe at 38 DH, the most expensive on the menu.
To finish, there are the tiramisus. The Classico is 25 DH, the Nutella 33 DH and the Pistachio 34 DH. The video also shows an Oreo flavour. To drink, a soda or a small water costs 7 DH, and an Illy coffee 25 DH.
Do the maths: a pizza, a tiramisu and a soda, and you eat for under 80 DH. Even with the most expensive pizza.
The atmosphere
The concept is young and fast. You come for a bite on the go, a quick lunch or a no-fuss dinner. Pizzas are made to order. You can eat in or take away. The place offers Wi-Fi, parking and card payment.
It's not a trattoria for a long dinner. It's a place to treat yourself without blowing the budget. And it does the job.
Who is it for?
Students, first. At this price, pizza becomes a proper lunch. Families, next: each child picks their own, and nobody fights over the last slice. And anyone who wants a quick dinner after work, without spending an hour at the table.
Coming as a group? Get several different recipes and cut them into pieces to taste a bit of everything. With the rectangular format, it's easy. Just save some room for a tiramisu.
Our verdict
Pizza di Papi ticks a box that was missing in Mohammedia: an individual-size pizza at a low price. The recipes range from very classic to more creative. Students, families and lunch breaks should all find something. We don't have much perspective on this new spot yet, so we're waiting for your feedback.
