Dar Al Fawakih in Rabat: our review of this family restaurant

Over 20 years, 8 locations and a Google rating of 4.7 from more than 9,000 reviews: we take stock of Dar Al Fawakih, avenue Al Atlas in Rabat.

More than 9,000 Google reviews and a rating of 4.7 out of 5. In Rabat, few restaurants can say as much. Dar Al Fawakih has been around for over 20 years and has 8 locations in the city. Here we focus on the one on avenue Al Atlas, in Agdal, which is the listing you'll find on SAM.ma.

A place with a proven track record

Dar Al Fawakih literally means “the house of fruit”. The name already says something about the philosophy: fresh produce, and everything made in-house. In our video, we stress this point. Here, they cook in front of you.

Twenty years, eight locations and thousands of positive reviews: in our video, we presented it as THE reference in Rabat. The kind of place you take visiting cousins when you don't know where to go.

What to eat

The menu mixes Moroccan and Italian cuisine. That may surprise on paper. At the table, it works.

Pizza prices may have changed since our visit. They give an idea of the positioning: you come to Dar Al Fawakih to eat well without blowing your budget. In our video, we talked about unbeatable value for money.

The atmosphere

The setting is friendly. In the listing photos, you can see a covered terrace with wooden tables and string lights, and a more modern dining room, with arches and plants hanging from the ceiling. In the evening, the illuminated sign can be spotted from afar.

The service is attentive; that's the other point that stands out in our video. For a family lunch, dinner with friends or a quick pizza, the place works at any time of day.

When to go

The SAM.ma listing shows it open every day from 11 am to 1 am. Handy for a late dinner. With so many customers, it's best to book at weekends, or come at off-peak times.

A note about the video

Our video was shot in February 2025 at another of the brand's locations, on avenue Al Maghrib Al Arabi, in the Médina area. The menu and the spirit are the same, but the address on the listing is indeed the one on avenue Al Atlas, in Agdal. Check where you're going before you set off.

If Agdal isn't on your way, remember that the brand has eight locations. A phone call will tell you which is closest, and whether the dish you're after is served there.

Our verdict

Dar Al Fawakih isn't trying to impress. It's homemade, family-style cooking, served in a pleasant setting, at gentle prices. And it has worked for over twenty years. The Google rating, on such a volume, speaks for itself.
