Crusty Bourgogne in Casablanca: our review of this roast chicken spot

In Bourgogne, Crusty serves marinated chicken roasted in the oven, with kebsa, pasta and fries. Fast, halal and open until midnight.

A drumstick for 15 DH, a half-chicken meal for 70 DH. At Crusty, in Bourgogne, the menu fits on one screen and prices stay tight. The Moroccan chain serves chicken that's marinated and then roasted in the oven, with kebsa rice, pasta and fries. We went to see how it works in Casablanca.

The chicken: roasted, never fried

This is the point Crusty insists on. The chicken is marinated, then roasted in the oven. No deep fryer for the meat. The result is lighter than breaded chicken, and the skin stays nicely crisp.

Born in Morocco in 2021, the chain now claims more than nine restaurants in the country. The concept doesn't change from one branch to the next: a short menu, four things done well. Chicken, rice, fries, a drink.

The menu and prices

Two ways to order, prices noted on the SAM.ma listing.

À la carte: 1 drumstick or 3 wings for 15 DH, half a chicken for 50 DH, a whole chicken for 80 DH.

As a meal, served with kebsa or pasta, fries and a drink:

Kebsa is basmati rice with olive oil. The pasta is penne with chicken and peppers. Each is also sold on its own, at 25 DH. For fries, a cone costs 20 DH, the cheesy box 25 DH, the cheesy spicy 30 DH. And to finish, a tiramisu at 20 DH, in the flavour of your choice.

Big group? The Family Box brings together 2 whole chickens, 4 chicken kebsa, 4 fries and a one-litre drink.

For drinks on their own: a can for 10 DH, juice for 15 DH, a one-litre bottle for 15 DH, a small bottle of water for 5 DH. Extra sauce costs 2 DH.

How it works

The concept is simple. You order and you're handed a buzzer. When it goes off, your meal is ready. It's fast and efficient. The listing states that the chicken is halal and that bank cards are accepted.

The restaurant is open every day from 11 am to midnight. During Ramadan 2025, it even opened from noon to 5:30 am, until suhoor. Bear that in mind for the next Ramadan, but check that year's hours.

Our verdict

Crusty does what it promises: well-seasoned chicken, served fast, without breaking the bank. It's not a restaurant to linger in. It's the place that saves the day in the evening, after work or before a match with friends.

Our tip: the 2-drumstick meal with kebsa. It's the combo that made the brand's name. And if you live in Bourgogne or nearby Maârif, it's an easy option for dinner without cooking.
