Bike Atlas in Marrakech: our review of these quad and buggy rides

In Marrakech's Palmeraie, Bike Atlas offers guided quad, dirt bike and buggy rides. We went along on an excursion.

Want to see Marrakech from somewhere other than a terrace? Head to the Palmeraie. That's where Bike Atlas runs its quad, dirt bike and buggy excursions. Engines running, dust flying, palm trees on the horizon. We went along on a ride with the SAM.ma camera.

Three ways to ride

At Bike Atlas, you choose your vehicle.

The rides are guided. Bike Atlas says they're open to beginners as well as thrill-seekers. So you don't need to have driven one before to give it a go.

The playground: the Palmeraie

The Palmeraie is the vast expanse of palm trees on the edge of Marrakech. Dirt tracks, sand, stones, open horizons. In Bike Atlas's photos, the late-afternoon light does the rest. Sunset shots, helmet in hand, are almost a must.

The big plus is how close it is. No need to drive for hours for half a day of adventure. You do your ride, and you're back in town for dinner.

The atmosphere on site

Bike Atlas highlights two things: a friendly atmosphere and safe rides. The excursions are guided, which is reassuring when you've never laid hands on quad handlebars. No need to be a driver to enjoy it.

On its Instagram account, Bike Atlas talks about “excursions and rides” in the Palmeraie. That's exactly it. You don't come for a closed circuit, you come to ride out in nature, with photo stops whenever you like the scenery.

Our tip: if you're torn between two vehicles, say so when you book. The team can advise you based on your level and how much thrill you want.

Who to go with

With friends, it's a good group outing. As a couple, the two-seater buggy has its charm. With family, ask beforehand about the minimum age and vehicles suited to younger riders, we weren't able to check.

Customer reviews are very good. Bike Atlas shows 4.9 out of 5 on Google, from 36 reviews. It's not a huge number yet, but it's a good sign.

Our tips before booking

We didn't find any published prices or hours, so we're not giving you any. Before booking, ask these questions:

For clothing, think practical: closed shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dusty, and a scarf for your face. You'll come back covered in sand, that's part of the fun.
